The mission of the E.S.H.P.G. – Education, Scholarship, Historical Preservation Group of the Woman’s Club of Warren, PA – is to foster the interests of our membership and supporters by providing educational opportunities for the Warren community, offering scholarships for post-secondary education to students of Warren County and preserving buildings of historical importance to Warren.
•EDUCATION- Our group has provided educational programs for the public. We published “Warren Historic Architecture”, a book of drawings and descriptions of historic Warren buildings for use in our public schools and available to the public. We also have hosted noted musicians and speakers for non-political presentations for Warren County residents.
•SCHOLARSHIP- We award merit-based scholarships to Warren County citizens for post-secondary education. All Warren County women and men with a high school diploma or GED are eligible to apply.
•HISTORIC PRESERVATION – The Water’s Mansion, home of the Woman’s Club of Warren, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is incumbent on us to preserve and maintain the structural integrity of this landmark so that it may continue to be a viable part of our Warren County community.
Current Projects/Needs:
*EDUCATION- We will be commemorating the 100 year anniversary of Woman’s Suffrage by supporting celebratory events along with other Warren Co. organizations and making them available to our Warren Community.
*SCHOLARSHIP- Using funds specifically earmarked for this program, we annually award merit-based scholarships to deserving Warren County citizens- both traditional students who are furthering their education following high school graduation and non-traditional students who are returning to school later in their lives.
*HISTORIC PRESERVATION- We are vigilant in our preservation efforts of our “home” at 310 Market Street and address issues of building integrity as they arise.
