The Allegheny Outdoor Club began in 1939 as a Warren County hiking club; It disbanded during World War II, but was restarted in 1968 as an outdoor club. The AOC has been active in building and maintaining hiking trails in Warren County, as well as leading weekly hikes, bike rides, river floats, and cross-country skiing. In 2008 the AOC was inducted into the Warren County Sports Hall of Fame.
Current Projects/Needs: The AOC’s latest project is upgrading the boat launch at Kinzua Dam. So far, a sum of $23,000 has been raised. Before that we raised $65,000 to construct the Watchable Wildlife Pavillion at Kinzua Dam. Currently we are completing a resurfacing of the Morrison Trail hike on the Allegheny National Forest.
